Johns Hopkins’ School of Medicine, and Hospital have ranked first among American health care providers for many years (according to the USN&WR ranking) and its extensive simulation center is among the reasons why. Using human patient simulators (sophisticated mannequins), virtual reality simulation (e.g. cardiac catheterization, colonoscopy, laparoscopic surgery as they might be performed in telemedicine situations), and computerized simulation to teach and test decision making in trauma cases, Hopkins offers these learning opportunity to nursing, respiratory therapy and medical students in teams, while brining new procedures to house staff.
