Mitochondrial dysfunction has been implicated in many serious diseases from diabetes and deafness at an early age, to multiple sclerosis, retinitis pigmentosa, myoclonic epilepsy, et al, but researchers in Europe and the US are finding age-related tissue degeneration-thinning of the skin, gray hair, baldness, anemia, osteoporosis-may also partially involve mitochondria problems in tissue stem cells, and might be partially prevented with antioxidant therapy.
