Designing Home Healthcare Devices

Lots of indicators suggest that today’s point-of-care devices in hospitals will be tomorrow’s consumer products for the home. This piece lists five key principles device designers should keep in mind for this transition: support and integrate; layer complexity; adapt, don’t dictate; beware of the message; and design the whole experience. This is part of thinking that anything within the hospital that can be delivered in various out-patient settings (including the home), will be done that way. MORE
