Imaging Vascular Identity

Several years ago, the CIA developed an infrared high speed camera to detect if someone was telling a lie, based on the person’s face vascularization and tendency to blush even slightly when not telling the truth. A more homely version of this technology is a new palm scanner (again imaging vascular individuality) that identifies a person and automatically links to their medical records. New York University’s Langone Medical Center has enrolled 22,000 patients so far for this device and believes if offers superior privacy protection. A video link in this clip shows how it works. MORE
