Apple’s iCloud

Earlier this month, Apple announced that it will include “cloud” communication capability in its new desktop and mobile operating systems. A file that is created on an iPhone, iPad, laptop or desktop will be uploaded to 5 gigabytes cloud storage (free) and then downloaded to any other device the user chooses. While this piece doesn’t mention telemedicine/telehealth applications, cloud computing is an enabler of virtual exam rooms that a patient-anywhere, any time, using any device-can use for scheduled or emergency medical visits.
