X Prize

Last month, the X Prize Foundation (Playa Vista, CA) announced its $10m prize for a portable diagnostic device that can do multiple tests and combine the results, using artificial intelligence, to make an accurate disease diagnosis.  Additionally, the device has to be usable by someone with no medical training.  Whether or not someone can put together the pieces of microfluidics, genomic profiling, and imaging, the competition will tell.   MORE
