Distance Monitoring of Sleep
May 3, 2011 | Terry Sharrer
Self monitoring for blood glucose, and self dosing for OTC medications are commonly practiced, so why not self experimentation for personal sleep assessment? In fact, why not a range of behavioral self monitoring, using all kinds of sensors, to single handedly personalize one’s health? That’s the idea of an open source organization “Quantified Self” . The enablers of this are consumer devices, like the “Zeo” sleep monitor, which capture data passively. The Zeo does not provide as much data as a sophisticated sleep lab, but at $199, it is a lot less expensive and appeals to the health-wise “do it yourself” types. MORE
