With a handheld device that measures the amount of nitrogen monoxide in an asthma sufferer’s breath, Siemens has created an early warning means for telling asthmatics to take their medications hours before an attack. Interestingly, the device converts NO to nitrogen dioxide which the sensor reads-indicating the necessary dose of anti-inflammatory medication. Commercialization waits upon further testing. MORE
