Adept Robot

By implanting a tracking sensor inside a surgical patient’s body, robotics manufacturer Adept Technology, Inc. (Pleasanton, CA) is testing a three-dimensional six-axis navigation robot that automatically locates a treatment probe close to a small tumor.  Adept’s technology is one of many cancer treatment-related innovations carried on in Lyon France by a consortium known as CLARA (for Lyon Auvergne Rhone Alpes Cancer Cluster), which also features proton therapy.    MORE
