Laser Vein Finder
February 15, 2011 | Terry Sharrer
Veinipuncture is the most common invasive medical procedure and it can take multiple sticks to hit the vein’s centerline. AccuVein, LLC (Cold Spring Harbor, NY) has introduced a portable, non-contact vein illumination device that obviously improves accuracy. It uses a class 2 laser to show the course of deoxygenated blood when held about seven inches from the skin. The illumination can penetrate to a depth of 7 mm. Take a look at the site’s video demonstration. It costs $4,300. MORE
