Saying that “the eye can be thought of as an optical window into the body for the painless measurement of glucose in the ocular fluid as opposed to the blood, ” the Chief Science officer of Freedom Meditech (San Diego, CA, and Cleveland, OH) announced his company’s “I-SugarX” ocular glucose monitor for diabetes. Unfortunately, this report doesn’t say how the readings are taken, though apparently the device is highly accurate. MORE
