ER Triage Robot

Calling their creation “Triage Bot,” or more formally, “Heterogeneous Artificial Agents for Triage Nurse Assistants,” computer engineers at Vanderbilt University have built a cognitive robot that gathers medical information and takes basic vital signs before making a preliminary diagnosis of an emergency room patient. This story also describes an ER of the future with check-in kiosks (much like the airlines use), smart chairs for diagnostic monitoring, and mobile robots that supplement the normal nursing staff.
