Culturing Brain Tissue
December 14, 2010 | Terry Sharrer
In tissue culturing a medullary preparation, technicians often use a tilt device that manipulates the sample on two axes. Improving that process, two Belgian companies-Imec (Leuven) and Peira (Beerse)-have collaborated to make a slice-tilting apparatus that uses nanoelectronics arrays, inside a cell growth incubator, to study the functional networks of neural transmission. Besides neurology, this device might be used for study of any complex biological networks. MORE
