“Regenerative medicine” brings to mind some razzle-dazzle visions, but it also holds advances in situations that seem quite conventional. Researchers at Georgia Tech, for instance, have developed a polymer coating with strands that mimic self-assembling clusters of fibronectin. Applied to titanium joint implants, the coating stimulates bone cell regeneration that strongly adheres to the metal. MORE
