Siemens Healthcare and Olympus Medical Systems have developed a prototype for a capsule endoscope with magnetic guidance.  A patient swallows the capsule (which has cameras on both ends) and a physician uses a joystick to maneuver the device by magnetic fields emitted from the examining bed.
