Recently, The Pharmacogenomics Journal published a study that John Deeken, at Georgetown University’s Lombardi Cancer Center, carried out using Affymetrix’s “DMET Gene Chip” (DMET for drug metabolizing enzymes and transporters) that arrays 1256 variations of 170 genes implicated in how the liver metabolizes drugs. This poses that getting the optimal dose right for an individual, with the least side effects, is coming closer to reality. MORE
