Microfluidic Chip

Integrated Diagnostics, a Seattle molecular diagnostics company that has spun out of Leroy Hood‘s Institute for Systems Biology, is developing inexpensive microfluidic chips that array peptides to capture pathological proteins from a drop of blood in five to ten minutes.  One version now being tested at UCLA, detects 35 blood markers for primary cancers and their metastases.
