Clinical trial staff at Mayo Clinic’s three campuses (MN, AZ and FL) studied their procedures for carrying out internally authored and externally authored protocols and applied Lean waste reduction techniques.  The results were quite impressive: reducing time for internal protocols from 25 weeks to 10.5, and external ones from 20.61 weeks to 7.79 weeks.  This site only has the abstract of the full article that appeared in the Journal of Clinical Oncology on August 10 (Vol. 27, No 23: 3855-3860).  MORE
