After studying how  the human brain processes visual data that results in movement, a European collaborative group used off-the-shelf parts to build a robotic brain that mimics a living guidance system.  The neat trick, of course, was writing the algorithms that could process huge amounts of data in milliseconds.  Their objective was to create a robot that can move through various environments, aiding visually impaired people.        MORE
