With the cost of genome sequencing dropping by 10,000-fold since 2005, and the $1,000 genome now almost within reach, it is hardly surprising that enough companies have gotten into the field for them to hold a trade fair-the first annual Consumer Genomics Show in Boston last week. The aim of all is predictive and prognostic indicators of health or illness, and eventually, targeted-personalized therapies. MORE
