Telehealth Satellite

Gujurat—India’s westernmost state, bordering Pakistan—has arranged a telemedicine project with the Indian Space Research Organization (Bagalore) to enhance health services in rural areas. ISRO will provide free satellite connectivity so doctors will have easier and faster access to diagnostic labs and specialists at medical schools. While Gujarat has millions of people living in remote farming districts, it also is one of India’s leading industrial states, known especially for its electrical engineering companies. MORE
