Increasingly, America’s leading hospitals are forming partnerships with foreign healthcare providers or actually building new branches abroad. Cleveland Clinic had a groundbreaking of its new hospital in Abu Dhabi earlier this year, and is affiliating with the International Medical Center in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; six hospitals in the Philadelphia area are collaborating to build a new facility in Jeju, South Korea, and Johns Hopkins has partnerships in China, Panama, Singapore and elsewhere, and will take over the management of Tawarm Hospital in Abu Dhabi.
