Attacking Brain Tumors with Liquid Polymer Nanoparticles
September 20, 2022 | Terry Sharrer
In an example of “customized nanomedicine,” cancer researchers at Northwestern University constructed lipid nanoparticles carrying four siRNAs aimed at four specific transcription factors in “brain tumor initiating cells.” These particles were directly injected into mice for “proof of principle” The “study suggests that there is potential advantage in multiplexed targeting strategies for BTICs and establishes a flexible nonviral gene therapy platform with the capacity to channel multiplexed RNAi schemes to address the challenges posed by tumor heterogeneity.” MORE
