Microbial Nanocellulose in a Wearable Sensor

Microbial nanocellulose is a skin substitute, already used in wound dressings. Researchers at the University of São Paulo in Brazil show that printed carbon electrodes in this material offer a sensor for multiple biomarkers. “A range of biomarkers are measurable by the device, including glucose, lactic acid, potassium, and sodium.” Could this be a sensor for tracking salt sensitive hypertension?
