Smart Patch for Monitoring Liver Function

Earlier this year, a group of European scientists published a report (SEE REPORT) on their hypothesis that reduced heart rate variability correlates with severity of liver function decline (decomposition) as is seen in cirrhosis patients. This piece then takes that observation and monitors it with a “smart patch” that acts as a continuous ECG. The company that makes this monitor, Isansys Lifecare Ltd (Abingdon, UK), supposes that this wireless, wearable device could better identify high risk patients and support earlier interventions. MORE
