Editing Stem Cells in the Body

In animal studies, Harvard bioengineers loaded CRISPR gene editing sequences into adeno-associated viruses, added red fluorescent reporter genes, and then allowed these constructs to enter skin, muscle and blood stem cells (mice). The reporter genes caused the transformed cells to glow red, showing that the vectors had done their delivery service. MORE
