Maybe medical research is another “Me Too” movement. In a survey of 40,000 Pub Med entries, a Harvard researcher found that of the 20,000 human protein coding genes, only about 100 were frequently documented, and of those, ten were the highly documented: TP53, TNF, EGFR, VEGFA, APOE, IL6, TGFBI, MTHFR, ESR1 and AKT1. Without diminishing the importance of these genes, one wonders how long it will be until light shines on the other 19,990. MORE
