Implantable Sensor Not Fouled by Immune Response

Profusa (South San Francisco) is developing injectable sensors for long term monitoring of conditions such as peripheral artery disease. Tiny sensors made of a proprietary hydrogel, with no flat surfaces for immune cell attachment, can detect oxygen levels and present a fluorescent signal that a wearable detector can measure. Results are then sent to a smartphone app. MORE
