Hardening of the arteries seems like the perfect subject for microfluidics modeling and that is what researchers at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore have done. Their one square inch device has two chambers: one for fluids containing cells, and the other with air so pressures can distort the flow channels, mimicking the interaction of cells, fats and minerals.
