Using a 3-D printer, tissue engineers at Chalmers University (Gothenburg, Sweden) have constructed human cartilage cells on a nanocellulose hydrogel substrate, and then implanted the tissue in living animal models. They observed vascularization and with the addition of some stem cells, the tissue grew. MORE
