Nine Common Medical Errors and Nurses’ Comments

At a recent patient safety conference US Senator Barbara Boxer listed the nine most common medical errors: among them, several kinds of infections, adverse drug and obstetrical events, pressure ulcers, blood clots, and ventilator-associated pneumonia. Besides the cost of preventable medical errors, collectively they represent the third leading cause of death in the US.
