Medicaid for Prisoner Healthcare

The US prison population exceeds two million, and prison healthcare is the most expensive form of care. According to this piece only a dozen states use Medicaid to pay for prisoners’ health services, which should mean that there is a pot of untouched funding for healthcare innovation that might be accessed for, say, telemedicine, bioinformatics or wellness. Thirty-eight of the fifty states ought to consider this as a way of demonstrating health thrift for the general population. MORE
