MIT’s “eyeNETRA”Camera

Many people might be surprised to know that the pixel pitch of a smartphone camera exceeds that of typical, clinical-grade optometry equipment. “Seeing” that opportunity, MIT’s Media Lab scientist Ramesh Raskar has developed a smartphone snap-on device that can evaluate vision and calculate a prescription for glasses more accurately than an optometrist’s refractor.
