3-D printing of “Personalized Pills”

In this TED talk video, chemistry professor at the University of Glasgow, Lee Cronin, describes how 3-D printing can be applied to personalized pill-making “just in time.” Not only could a medicine be customized to a patient’s metabolic rate or specific molecular targets, a hospital pharmacy would not have to maintain an inventory of expensive pills that could expire before use.
