“Tissue Fingerprinting” with MRI
May 14, 2013 | Terry Sharrer
“Each body tissue and disease has a unique fingerprint that can be used to quickly diagnose problems” with an MRI body scan, claims Case Western Reserve University & Hospital researchers. They also propose that an MRI scan should become part of everyone’s annual health assessment. The claim seems, at least, “forward looking,” but the possibility of a procedure costing at least $1,000 as a screening tool probably falls flat with insurers, even if “tissue fingerprinting” does have potential in specific cases.
