In 2005, The Johns Hopkins University’s Whiting School of Engineering and its School of Medicine began a collaboration called the Institute for Computational Medicine. Its aim has been to develop predictive models for the feed forward and feed backward interactions of molecules, cells, tissues, organs and organ systems, and to test potential therapies “In Silico.” While this report focuses on Hopkins’ research with computational medicine, it really reflects the broader field.
