UK Healthcare Reform

Americans are used to hearing politicians say how faulty healthcare delivery is in the UK under its National Health Service. Some Britons would agree, but in the discussion of reforming the NHS, others are horrified that their country might become more “market sensitive” regarding healthcare. They see the US system as grossly expensive and favoring the rich. Apparently, British politicians face the same kind of public hostility when favoring an American style private system, as American politicians encounter in proposing single-payer plans. MORE
