Robot for IV Cancer Therapy

Getting the right mix of chemotherapy drugs, properly diluted, in a sterile IV bag, without contamination, can be a tricky thing. There are some robotic systems on the market that handle these tasks, but recently Health Robotics (Bozen, Italy) announced its new cancer therapy robot, “i.v. Station Onco,” that the company claims is “four times faster, five times smaller, and three times less expensive” than the competition. The company hopes to get FDA certification and bring this Class II device to the US in early 2012. MORE
