Early Detection of Diabetes Risk

Starting from samples in blood biorepositories, where diabetes outcomes were tracked over time and known, scientists at Tethys Bioscience (Emeryville, CA) examined protein combinations that indicated “risk stratification” for developing the disease.  They now have a predictive test, “PreDx,” that, for $300, can tell a person if they are among the 10 to 15% of the 57 million pre-diabetic patients in the US who will see the disease develop and what specifically they should do about it.      MORE
