With $90m from the Gary and Mary West Family Foundation, the “West Wireless Health Institute” recently opened in San Diego.  It’s mission is to “innovate, validate, advocate, invest and commercialize” advanced wireless health technologies, and the Institute is starting off in that direction with 12 engineers and an intent to build their engineering staff to more than six dozen.  WWHI also has formed an alliance with Mexico’s Carlos Slim Health Institute (named for the Mexican telecom tycoon).           MORE
