Systematic Savings, Improved Access, Greater Availability & a Free eHealth Infrastructure: Possible? Yes
Globally healthcare systems are struggling to meet demand for services while trying to focus on quality improvements. Access to healthcare remains a challenge especially as costs increase and the ratio of provider capacity to demand continues to decrease. One area of focus, as evidenced by the trend toward primary care pharmaceutical reform, is maximizing the use of the pharmacy network to deliver more of the primary care burden. At the same time technology capability continues to increase and technological costs continue to fall. Platform technologies which have reformed many industries such as telecommunications, banking and utilities offer the promise of increased access and lowered cost per interaction. To date communications, software and robotic technologies have not been integrated in way that has been cost effective in delivering their potential at scale to actually realize the latent benefits. PharmaTrust has combined these types of technologies to deliver a platform for primary care pharmacy and medical care by arbitraging the massive spending on retail pharmaceuticals into a primary care platform; in the process offering increased quality, reduced cost, skills mobility and greater access to primary care to complement the existing healthcare system.
