Rapid, Automated Influenza Detection
June 2, 2009 | Terry Sharrer
PortFastFlu is a small-footprint machine that uses microarray-based RNA extraction and RT-PCR to do a rapid (less than 1 hour) testing for H and N type virus detection. The system then sends its results to a point of care device. This is a product of a European Union consortium, and its testing in hospitals is scheduled to being this December. MORE
