Don DuRoussueau, President of Human Bionics, to Develop “Brain Music” for Use by DHS
Insomnia, fatigue and headaches, from stress, afflict everyone from time to time, but when they unease first responders, like firefighters, they can have tragic consequence. For that reason, the Department of Homeland Security has engaged Human Bionics LLC (Purcellville, VA) to create “brain music”-short compositions as part of a Readiness Optimization Program (ROP). These melodies are often played on a piano and derive from a relaxed person’s own brain waves. In a sense, this is a pavlovian feedback, but it seems to work in making first responders sharper on the job. Human Bionics’ President, Don DuRousseau, considers this part of a wellness program that combines nutritional adherence and neurotraining, as he described more fully at last December’s the Medical Automation International Conference.
