Sree Kaimal's bio:


Dr. Sreekumar Kaimal joined National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR) as Sr. Vice President for Development in 2008. Dr. Kaimal leads a comprehensive fundraising program with a special focus on major gift program, corporate and foundation support. In addition he is also actively involved in establishing inter-institutional collaborations and other fund raising program expansion to strengthen support for the mission of NFCR.

Prior to joining NFCR, Dr. Kaimal was the Director of Mayo Clinic Genomics Center microarray facility and General Clinic Research Center proteomics & metabolomics core laboratory from 2001 - 2007. In addition, Dr. Kaimal was a faculty at Mayo clinic from 1998 - 2007 and has extensive research experience in the area of diabetes, aging and cancer. Ultimately, his research leads to the discovery of novel pathways implicated in diabetes and cancer. It includes new molecular targets for potential drug development and several key biomarkers for its early detection. He published around 60 peer reviewed publications in this area and was a member in several National Institute of Health grant review committees. He was also a member of the review board of several national and international scientific journals.

Dr. Kaimal received his M. S in chemistry from Kerala university and his Ph. D in organic chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in India. He is a member of several international and national scientific societies and received numerous awards and honors in recognition of his scientific contributions.
