Even a tiny DNA sequencer like Oxford Nanopore’s “MinION” takes considerable time to do its work because it processes the sample multiple times. But, this piece tells of work at Johns Hopkins University where computational scientists have created a software advance that does the sequencing in one pass by linking each polymorphism, methylation, or structural variant to an existing study set.
