Abbott’s Gallant cardiac implants

Last July the FDA approved Abbott’s “Gallant” implantable defibrillator which has Bluetooth connectivity for distance monitoring.  St. Elizabeth’s Heart and Vascular Institute in Edgewood, KY has now implanted that device in a human patient.  “The smartphone connectivity offers patients flexibility compared to traditional bedside monitors.
