Miniaturization in Ultrasound Imaging
November 24, 2020 | Terry Sharrer
Engineers at the German Research Center for Environmental Health and the Technical University of Munich have developed an ultrasound detector for imaging that is smaller than a blood cell and functions in miniaturized photonic circuits instead of piezoelectric crystals. Known as a silicon waveguide-etalon detector, or SWED, it has the ability to image smaller than one micrometer—with super high resolution. MORE
