Paul Alexander was one of the earliest “baby-boomers,” and when he was six years old, in 1952, he experienced a pandemic personally. He contracted poliomyelitis, and ended up in an artifact of that era, an iron lung. Today, Mr. Alexander, aged 72, is one of the last polio victims still using an iron lung. MORE
