Senolytics in Kidney Disease

“In a small safety and feasibility clinical trial, Mayo Clinic researchers have demonstrated for the first time that senescent cells can be removed from the body using drugs termed “senolytics.” Senescent cells can accumulate in kidney tissue causing insulin resistance, cell dysfunction and other disease symptoms. The senolytic drugs, in this trial, were dasetinab and quercetin. MORE
