Graphene Microflakes to Stop Seizures
August 20, 2019 | Terry Sharrer
This piece mainly suggests what might be done for brain disorders in the future rather than what was accomplished in this experiment. Collaborators in Italy, England and France injected tiny graphene flakes into animal brains that were experiencing an electrical overload (seizure). The two-dimensional flakes, a millionth of a meter square, were big enough to keep from washing out, but small enough to temporarily imbed in nerve synapses. Three days later, the graphene was gone, without causing inflammation or other immune response. MORE
